7 DAYS SOUTH SULAWESI EXPLORATION TOUR
This tour is designed for the visitors who wish
to have more adventurous exploration.
The tour destination is
Sulawesi Island, one of the big islands in the northern territory.
One of the most interesting places to be discovered in this island
is Kajang where you can observe the native people daily life.
These indigenous people live in simplicity and refuse to use modern
utensils. Other discoveries which are not less attractive such
as historical remain of former Bugis Kingdom, silk weaving centre,
trader community of Wajo Bugis. Another interesting point of this
tour is the chance to see the scenic beauty of nature along the
way enroute to destination.
Day 01: Ujung Pandang
- Malino
Upon arrival at Hasanudin airport of Ujung Pandang, you’ll be
met and taken for a short City Tour of Ujung Pandang visiting
the 17th century Dutch fortress and Benteng Somba Opu - the miniature
houses of South Sulawesi. After lunch, proceed directly to Malino.
Upon arrival, check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 02: Malino -
Kajang
After breakfast at hotel, depart for Tana Beru to the traditional
Makasar ways of Pinisi boat building. Afterwards, proceed to Kajang
- a place where the people preserve their indigenous way of life.
The black dressed people resist modernization, thereby refuse
to use modern utensils. They are committed to their own teaching
Pasang which is transmitted for generations. The Kajang people
are a collective society, decisions are made by all and for all
or in other words, they practice a true democratic system. Lunch
enroute, check in at hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Kajang -
Sengkang
Breakfast at hotel, depart for Sengkang to visit the silk Sarong
weaving centre with lunch enroute. Arrive at Sengkang, check in
at hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Sengkang
- Rantepao
After breakfast, morning boat trip at Lake Tempe to see the ways
of life of the people who live at the lakeside. Afterwards depart
for Rantepao, via Palopo, the capital city of the former Luwu
Kingdom in South Sulawesi, which is now the Regency of Luwu. On
the way you can see the clove plantations, beautiful panoramas
and the sea views at Palopo. Lunch enroute. In the afternoon arrive
in Rantepao and head directly to check in at hotel for dinner
and overnight.
Day 05: Rantepao
After breakfast, leave the hotel for a full day Toraja Highland
Tours, visiting Lemo - the cliff tombs, Suaya - the Royal tombs
and Sanggala - the baby grave on the tree. Lunch will be served
at local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, visit the burial
cave at Londa and traditional carving village at Ke’te Kesu. Dinner
and overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Rantepao
After breakfast, leave the hotel for a full day Toraja Highland
Tours, visiting Palawa - traditional Torajan Village with full
of buffalo horns in front of their houses, Sa’dan - the traditional
weaving village and Bori - the ancient Megalithic stone (menhir).
After lunch, visit Marante - the hanging grave and Nanggala -
traditional Torajan village with fourteen granaries. Afterwards,
back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 07: Rantepao
- Ujung Pandang / Departure
After an early breakfast, depart for Hasanuddin Airport for flight
to your next destination, passing through the same route as arrival.
Lunch will be served either at Seafood Restaurant at Pare - Pare
or at airport restaurant.
Rates are quoted nett / person in
